Bob-Kats on the Road 1-17-11

Nicole, possessed by the spirit of dance
                                                                   Darrick:  Brisket Master

                                                               He worked his A__ off!
                                                                     Where's the Purse?
                                                                              Here it is!
Party at Silo Saturday night for Jennifer's 40th birthday.  Drinks, food, music, lots of people (-- what up with that?  I think I got a card on my 40th birthday!)  Sunday went to church with Suzie.  Small Vineyard but way cool.  Good people there -- very good for Suzie.  Dinner at Jennifer and Darrick's Sunday afternoon.  Jennifer, Lizbeth and Nicole and husbands and children, Suzie and four of jennifer's friends from Jamestown -- a house full!  Darrick's usual awesome food.

Then we were on the road to Mission.  Wonderful trip!  Hawks, white tails,  crested cara caras, hawks ID.   Along 281 -- awesome big sky, warm weather and birds!   Sitting with book & binocs.  Falfurrias -- location of great cowboy restaurant, noted in 2008 for being top city for most illegals captured.  Shrikes, Cara cara on the ground, black hawk?  Kestrel, peregrine -- we are crazy with bird excess after long drought! Many many white tail hawks in trees spaced with exacting care along highway.

We are here at park.  It is awesome -- right on the Rio Grand.   Blue sky, warm.  We have our own border patrol outfit complete with helicopter.  Gosh, probably safer than in Marshall!

  1. Glad to hear things are going well. You'll be glad not to be here - the arctic blast came through last night with a few flurries. The pups and I had a brisk, quick walk this morning. Their paws froze very soon after hitting the sidewalk...Donna Daines saw my post to you the other day on FB and called to ask if you were Steve's dad...said she didn't know you had been living in Marshall all this time!! Small world.
